Penn - Vicar

The Benefice of Penn

St Bartholomew's and St Anne's

We are:

  • One thriving parish with 2 churches, on the western edge of Wolverhampton, with an Outstanding church primary school.
  • Central in tradition, open to growth, mission, and innovation.

We are challenged by:

  • Our need to attract and retain more young people.
  • Our relative lack of engagement with social justice issues.
  • Our desire to grow in spiritual depth, practical love, and knowledge of scripture.

We are praying for a vicar who:

  • Has experience integrating into, leading and managing a team.
  • Will have discernment for our present and vision for our future.
  • Preaches in a relevant and challenging way, bringing the Bible to life.
  • Has a heart and ability for outreach to various age groups.
  • Will be a shepherd who loves people and cares compassionately for the flock of God.
  • Is an enabler of others in their gifts and callings.

We can offer:

  • A supportive team of assistant clergy, lay people, and parish administrator, gifted and willing to serve.
  • A welcoming community holding together a range of views and preferences.
  • A place where both choral and more contemporary music are valued.
  • A parish which is financially stable with buildings in good order.
