Incumbent - Longton and Meir

Are you a prayerful and approachable priest with a heart for parish renewal, community engagement and collaborative ministry?

Situated on the south-east side of Stoke-on-Trent, we are seeking a new Incumbent to lead our two welcoming churches with faithful congregations, strong lay commitment and a genuine desire to grow in faith, discipleship and mission.

Following over a decade of working together as a benefice, we are looking for a priest who will:

  • Deepen our life of prayer, worship and sacramental ministry.
  • Encourage confident discipleship and develop lay gifts.
  • Build relationships with schools, families and the wider community.
  • Help us explore fresh opportunities for mission and outreach.
  • Value our traditions while enabling us to try new things.
  • Work collaboratively with committed lay leaders and supportive PCCs.

We offer:

  • A strong sense of welcome and commitment.
  • Congregations eager to embrace renewal and growth.
  • Established links and opportunities within schools and community organisations.
  • Good clergy support within the Deanery and Diocese.
  • A healthy respect for challenges as well as joys of parish ministry.

If you are excited by the prospect of helping two churches from a sacramental tradition to rediscover confidence, deepen faith and strengthen their presence within their communities, we would love to hear from you.

All applicants should normally have 3 years experience in the Church of England or another Anglican church in the British Isles.
