Megan is from Hull in East Yorkshire and was brought up in the Methodist church. From being a teenager Megan was passionate about her faith and involved in leading others to understand the gospel. After a theatre degree including studying puppetry, dance and movement and Beijing opera, Megan began a ministry journey as a youth and student pastor in an Anglican church in Guilford diocese. While working in this context Megan also completed a part-time MA in Mission focussing on the Church of England's mission to Generation Z. Megan had had a sense since her youth of feeling called to ministry and through her explorations in this area began to feel called towards ordination leading her to her ordination training at Ridley Hall Cambridge completing a second MA in Theology and Mission for Ministry and serving as the senior student. Megan enjoys adventures in her campervan and wild swimming wherever possible.
Megan feels called to teach the good news of Jesus Christ to all generations.
The biggest misconception about preparing for ministry is that you need to have all the skills and gifts sorted before you begin.
Before ordination training Megan was working in ministry for young people. Megan can't imagine God having any other call on her life, though she very much enjoyed the theatre studies she did prior to being in full time ministry; Megan likes when she can in cooperate some of her creative performance background in a ministry context.
Advice she would give for someone discerning Gods call on their life is: it's not just a single moment of calling but a journey; don't discern alone - find trusted voices to speak into your life and be praying and walking with you as you discern what God is saying to you; and don't worry that you don't know everything already, or don't have all of the gifts you might need, God equips those He calls and the church needs all sorts of people to minister in His Church.
