Wednesday 20 January 2027This 1-hour, informal and engaging session will introduce The Clewer Initiative, a charity working nationally to raise awareness of modern slavery and exploitation and to encourage local action. Modern slavery cases have been found in our diocese. But Clewer believe that the tools to end modern slavery already exist within the local community and that churches, with a presence in every neighbourhood and deep roots in community life, are uniquely placed to mobilise the people, resources, compassion and action needed to create lasting change. To do this, there is an urgent need to raise awareness of modern slavery and equip individuals and communities to know how to spot the signs of slavery and report concerns. Through this session, we will explore:
Clewer Initiative is a Christian charity, but the content will be an overview of the topic and suitable for people all faiths and none.
