Community & Diversity

Decorative

Tuesday 8 September 2026

This 1-hour, informal and engaging session will introduce Spurgeons Connect - a national initiative (from Spurgeons Christian children's charity), equipping churches to develop volunteer-led Church Family Hubs that provide relational, accessible, and sustainable support to families in their communities.

Through this session, we will explore how churches can play a transformational role locally by offering practical support, building relationships, and working in partnership with other services to meet the needs of families.

The session will provide a helpful overview of the programme, including how it aligns with the wider Family Hub agenda and supports churches to be part of a joined-up local support network.

During the session, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn more about what Spurgeons Connect offers and how it supports churches
  • Understand what a Church Family Hub is and how it can develop in your context
  • Hear examples of how churches are engaging with the initiaitive and supporting families
  • Explore the practical steps, tools, and support available
  • Ask questions and reflect on what this could look like in your own church or community

This will be an interactive and welcoming space, designed for church leaders, staff, volunteers and anyone interested in stregthening support for families in their local area.
